Onix AI credits measure your company’s use of AI-powered features in Onix. The credits belong to the Onix company where the AI action is performed.

# How credits are provided

Your company may have free and purchased Onix AI credits. Both are added to a shared company balance.

Your company receives a one-time allocation of 1,000 free credits:

- They are used before purchased credits.
- Unused free credits remain available until you use them.
- They do not renew monthly or when a new contract period starts.

Purchased credits are provided in 12 monthly allocations under a 12-month package. Each allocation period follows your company’s service contract dates, so it may not align with a calendar month.

- Unused purchased credits carry over to later monthly allocations during your current Onix contract period. For example, if you use only part of one monthly allocation, the remainder is available together with the next monthly allocation.
- Remaining purchased credits normally expire at the end of the contract period.
- A new credit cycle starts when the contract period is renewed.

If your company purchases Onix AI credits partway through an existing contract period, unused purchased credits carry over at the first renewal. Normal expiry applies from the following renewal.

# How credit usage is calculated

Credits are used when Onix processes an AI request. A request may therefore use credits even if you stop it after processing has started, discard the result, or decide that the result needs further changes.

AI requests do not have a fixed credit cost. Usage depends on factors such as the amount of information processed, the files included, and the content generated.

An AI request can use more credits than are currently available and still finish. The additional credits are deducted from the next monthly purchased-credit allocation. You cannot send another chargeable request until more credits become available.

# Check your Onix AI credit usage

Administrators can check your Onix AI credit usage in **Onix Admin \> Usage overview**.

The **Onix AI credits** chart shows how many Onix AI credits your company has, how many have been used and details of each usage.
