# Shared library enhancement for Equipment Owner

We have companies that wants to be able to connect the same document to several equipment. One example is Glencore who wishes to keep a maintenance log with information that do not have a place in Onix. This could be operating hours for their cranes.

One way of solving this would be to add the maintenance log to shared library and then connect it to either a control category or be able to pick the equipment that should have access.

Hi @ste, today a shared document can be linked to products and equipment.  
Based on your description, what’s missing is linking the document to control categories. Is that correct?

By the way, you’re mentioning Glenncore and their particular use case, so is it OK if I move your idea to the public #Product ideas to get more user votes?

Just had a quick chat with Stephan, and we agree that what’s missing is the ability to link a shared document to multiple equipment at once, either by bulk editing the equipment or by linking the document to a control category.

Hi @ste, thanks for raising this product idea. We are moving it to “To be considered stage” to prioritize it for future releases 🙂
