Monitor and measure performance in Dashboard module

Dashboard module keeps everyone in your company up to speed with what’s going on across the business by effectively taking complex data and visualizing them in configurable widgets.

1. Standard dashboards

We offer 4 standard dashboards: Equipment owner , Inspector , Supplier and Worker. They are always ready for use, and each dashboard includes a predefined set of widgets.

You can pin the most relevant standard dashboard to access useful data more conveniently.

2. Create and set up a new dashboard

Create a new dashboard

Required privilege:
You need full-access Dashboard privilege to add, edit, or delete a dashboard.
If your Dasboard privilege is at read-only level, you can only view existing dashboards.

To create a new dashboard:

  • Go to the Dashboards module in Onix Work:
  • In the ribbon menu, click on the gear icon and select New dashboard from the drop-down menu.
  • Enter the name of the dashboard, and hit OK.

You can also rename the dashboard, set default, or delete any existing dashboards from this menu. Note that when a dashboard is set as default, all users automatically see it first when they enter the Dashboards module.

Add widgets to the dashboard

  • Go to the ribbon menu and select Edit.
  • In Edit mode, you can customize the widgets to your desire on your dashboard

The widget catalog displays all the widgets that are available to add to your dashboard

  • You might add several widgets at a time simply by selecting them and clicking Add
  • We offer 6 types of widgets:
    • Equipment from view
    • Image
    • Issues by control category and due date
    • Issues by control category and status
    • Issues by customers
    • Issues by status
    • Number of issues

After the widget is added, you can arrange it in the dashboard:

  • Drag and drop it into the place where you want your widget to be
  • Drag the corners of the widget to change its size to give emphasize the most important information that needs to be looked at more frequently
  • To remove a widget, choose the X icon on the top right

When you’re finished with your additions, select Done editing to exit edit mode.

Set up widgets

Each widget has unique properties and variables for configuration:

  • To configure a widget, select Edit from the ribbon menu, then choose the gear icon on the top right of the widget you wish to configure

In the widget configuration:

  • Edit the displayed Title of the widget to better suit your use-case
  • Tailor the widget to get timely information at a glance, and keep it focused on presenting information that your fellows value most

When you’re finished with your changes, choose Done Editing to exit edit mode

3. The “Equipment from view” widget

About

This widget will get all data of your current view and turn them into charts. So if you want to get the data that best meets your needs, you should create your own views in the Equipment module beforehand.

Set up the widget

To set up an “Equipment from view” widget:

  • Add a new widget to your dashboard and select Equipment from view widget
  • Start the configuration for your Equipment from view widget:
    • Title: Naming your widget to make it fit your needs
    • View: Select the view that you want to get data from
    • Chart type: You can choose how your chart displayed:
      • Donut
      • Bar
      • Column
    • Label (must have): Select this to group your data and turn them into labels of your chart.
    • Sort: You can sort your chart by:
      • Label: Sort based on the names of your column
      • Value: Sort based on the value of each column
      • Ascending: A to Z
      • Descending: Z to A
    • Number of records to display: You can choose how many labels to be displayed on your chart
  • Click OK after completing the configuration, then Done editing to leave the edit mode

4. Drill down data

How to drill down data

For a further breakdown into each widget, use drill-downs to get a finer-grained view of the selected value from any widget with just one click.

In the chart, click on any slice to view the data behind it. Note that you cannot drill down data while you’re in Edit mode.

Examples

For example, the donut chart on the left shows Issues by status of Caterpillar Inc. On the right, the drill-down list shows the relevant MO issue list within the Issues module.

In another example, the donut chart shows the number of equipment in the G3 category. When you click on a slice, you’ll be redirected to a list of G3 equipment within the Equipment module.
