We have faced a problem trying to use different control categories and inspection intervals at different sites. We have our company regime set to Standard and have set LOLER regime for certain locations in Europe. As a LEEA member we would like to use Report of Thorough Examination in all sites in Europe. First problem we face is that with LOLER loose gear interval set to 6 months (standard for UK), it will overwrite any existing inspection period (including sites in mainland Europe that have a 12 month inspection requirement). If we amend the loose gear period to 12 months it will not overwrite the existing period at these sites but then does overwrite the 6 month period at UK sites. There is also a problem with the document - if the LOLER period is set to 12 months for loose gear, the correct “next due” date is shown on the report but the report text still says the examination was conducted within a period of 6 months. How can we use EU & LEEA complient “LOLER style” report forms at UK and non-UK locations without having to set a 6 months inspection period at all locations?
Hi @richard.stannard, currently there’s no functionality in Onix Work that can directly solve your need. As you point out, the settings of control category and control regime apply to all locations and areas.
We’ll need a new functionality to solve this, so I’m moving your question to Product ideas and let our Product Group join the discussion.
In my humble opinion, the new functionality might be some ways to customize settings on Location/Area level, or some changes in how the default interval is displayed on forms.
Thanks so much for sharing your idea! To move forward, we need more votes and input from other users. So for now, your idea is at the “In Discussion” stage.
In last week’s latest release, we introduced a brand-new form called the “(New) Report of Thorough Examination” which I believe can help solve this issue for you.
This form is built using our modern, highly configurable template. You can customize it yourself by navigating to Settings → Forms → (New) Report of Thorough Examination → Variants, where you can create a tailored variant to suit your inspection needs. You can also utilize the pre-defined variant that will look similar to the form you’re used to using.
If you decide to use this new form, we’ve also added the ability to set a default form for a regime. You can configure this by going to Settings → Control Categories → Regime Default Form.
Let me know if this helps!
Hi @nabil.omar
The new form is nice and it solves the issue I had with the form.
It partly solves my problem although its a little confusing with so many different places you can select the regimes and forms.
With Company regime set to Standard and Form set to EU machinery directive, at the Control Categories screen I have Standard set to the original report and LOLER set to the new report. If we then take site 1 - I have the regime set to standard and form set to “use company standard” . When I open an inspection job in the app the site automatically sets the regime to Standard and the form to the original inspection form. At site 2 I have the regime set to LOLER and the form set to EU Machine Directive - when I start a job in the app the regime is LOLER and the form is the new report form. So far, so good. However, at site 3 I have the regime set to “use company setting” and the forms set to ILO, if I open a job in the app the regime is standard but the form is the original report form, not the ILO form. So, it seems to me the form requirement field in Location does not have any influence on the app. I had also hoped that by having a LOLER setting at one site, moving a piece of equipment from a non-LOLER site would automatically adjust he Mandatory Inspection period from 12 months to 6 months, but this is not the case. The form setting definitely gives more flexibility and solves some issues but not all of them.
Hi @richard.stannard ,
Thank you for your detailed feedback! I’m glad to hear the new form has helped resolve some of your issues.
Regarding site no. 3, I assume you’re configuring the form requirement under Settings → System Setup → Delivery and Job? If so, please note that this field only applies to the order module and does not affect the form used in jobs. I’ll make a note that we need to add an explanation for this.
The only place where you can set a default form for a regime, which will have an impact on jobs, is under Settings → Control Categories → Regime Default Form. However, the ILO form is not currently available as a default option.
For your last question about moving equipment from a non-LOLER site to a LOLER site, the LOLER job interval should be applied to the equipment, but it may not be visible until a job is created. Could you try creating a job for this equipment and check if the correct job interval appears there?
Let me know if you need further clarification!
