Query from customer regarding Tool Store (rental vs lending)

We want Onix Work and Onix Tool Store to perform an additional task for use.

  • We want to be able to rent out specific types of tools, e.g., a welding machine.
  • Some equipment should only be available for lending, e.g., drills.

Example:

  • User borrows from Tool Store:

    • One drill

    • One welding machine

  • No change in the actual borrowing process, but the system performs an extra task in the background.

System requirements:

  • ONIX should recognize that the welding machine is for rental.

  • The system must allow us to generate a report for tools in the “Rental” category within a specified time period. This is due to invoicing purposes.

Do we have functionality for this?

Hi @Thomas_Ljengkvist, we don’t have such functionality yet.
To have such functionality, this query should be treated as a product idea and be discussed by the Product team. It’s now been assigned to the relevant team; they will join our discussion shortly.

Thank you for the product idea.
As Phuong mentioned, we unfortunately don’t have the functionality for this now, but it could be something we can consider for a future release.
I’ll change the state of the product idea to “In discussion” so that other customers can join the conversation if it’s of interest to them.
