Today there are two separate locations for management of equipment properties.
Setting menu - this only allows merging of similar Properties.
Through the equipment module
The second is a bit cumbersome as you need to select an item, edit it’s properties, only then can you access the list of properties, create custom properties, or edit property details. The suggestion is to combine these functions into a single menu in settings.
Next subject is that some system properties do not have units of measure - for example “effective working length” this has resulted in different equipment having different units of measure for the same property, which complcates searches and export of the data for other purposes such as printing of ID labels.
Final observation about properties is that its not possible to disable properties that are not being used in our company. System properties are always active and cannot be made inactive.
In the autumn release, we are going through all settings and improving them, and we will look at equipment properties as one that could potentially have its own setting for management.
