Currently the findings status in Onix are limited to the following:
- OK - No findings = everything is fine
- NC - Non Compliance = Major Finding - Equipment cannot be used / Safety Hazard
- RC - Required Correction = Minor finding - actions must be taken within X days/months
- C - Comment = Minor Finding - to be taken into consideration by inspectors / maintenance. explains things like what has been done, what should be done at next inspection / maintenance.
- MO - Modus Operandi / Memorandum - Minor Finding - comment to be taken into consideration by users. explains current condition and possible outcomes.
- NA - Not Applicable
These are all findings statuses taken from the NORSOK standards, and is a default for Norwegian Offshore, and has been adapted by the British offshore industry. When Onix is now going Internationally, i would like for us to let the client make those distinctions themselves, while at the same time letting the system handle the findings statuses in the same manner as now.
If an account admin can themselves get the Norsok setup as default, but have the ability to create new statuses, and set their own names and abbreviations, this would expand the usability of the feature. Just like the custom statuses for projects.
However, when creating their own findings statuses, the user would need to connect the status to a function, so lets instead of OK, NC, RC, C, MO, C, NA define the system by its function:
- OK = No Finding
- NC = Critical Finding
- RC = Minor Finding
- C = Maintenance Comment
- MO = User Comment
- NA = No Findings / Not Applicable.
This means that the user can make their own findings system, with even multiple of a single one, for example this setup here, where what the user would see is the code in parenthesis ( ) , and the thing the system would see is the thing in brackets [ ] :
- [OK] = No Finding (OK)
- [NC] = Electrical Fault (EF)
- [NC] = Mechanical Fault (MF)
- [NC] = Hydraulic Fault (HF)
- [NC] = Pneumatic Fault (PF)
- [RC] = Documentation Compliance (DC)
- [RC] = Maintenance required (MR)
- [C] = Maintenance Comment (MC)
- [MO] = User Comment (UC)
- [NA] = Not Applicable (NA)
Or any other language / abbreviation use. The function in the system is the same, we simply add a localization / language -layer on top. simply put, the customer gets a customization layer, and Onix keeps its current system function.
