Good day,
We have identified a requirement from some clients in our area to locate items in their facilities by GPS location. The Proposal is the following:
A) Be able to update Map Location of one or more than one Items while using ONIX INSPECT:
While saving the Job of an Item (or more than one items) with a mobile phone or tablet (in the APP), be able to link actual GPS position and set it on Map for the item (the position would be later updated while Filing a Job).
B) Be able to update Map Locations of one or more than one items in the web application, not with just a “click” in the map, but also by setting GPS-Coordinates. The web-app map seems to use Google Maps as map-engine, but there doesn’t exist the possibility of “searching” for the position with coordinates, as in standard google maps:
This request comes from some benefits that we find interesting and that ONIX don’t have right now:
-
Instant location of equipment during/after an inspection day. This helps us define the location of the client’s equipment. But there is an issue that I have seen, which is that the locations set on the map can’t be erased (It pops an Error). This has been notified already.
-
Map location of several STATIC equipment and set locations within a client’s facilities. Dynamic tracking is not required as they are static safety equipment, like Life-lines, Work-in-Height anchor points and such. This could help set a whole facilities map with all fixed-equipment locations
-
Inspection planning: If we have items located on a whole facility of a client, we could coordinate and plan each day of an inspection project by areas.
-
Multiple Items on map with ID: Right now the Map only shows areas with dots, but won’t allow show ID’s, not even while selecting individually the item from a list, it won’t show in the map the ID of the selected item (it is neither ID’d in the list on the left, only address locations date, but not the item’s name/ID in the list, neither on the map).
This could help client’s to set and update maps with items with each year’s changes and Inspections, and even set colors for items on an area close to expire date?
Additionally, I would like to report some issues while setting locations for 1 item on the map:
I already mentioned when we tried to erase a location it reported an Error and a location couldn’t be erased. Later on I tried to “overwrite” a location on the lap by setting a new location for the same item. It only saved the new one, but didn’t “overwrite” the previous location. Instead it saved both (even after shutting my session and signing in the app again).
Best regards,
