If, during an equipment inspection in Onix Inspect, the technician discovers that the inspected product is registered under Company 1, but the equipment has actually been sold to Company 2, how can they transfer the already registered product in the system from Company 1 to Company 2 in order to avoid creating a duplicate?
Thank you for your inquiry ![]()
Company 1 can change the ownership in their Onix Work account.
See step-by-step instructions regarding how to do so in this article [FAQ] How to change equipment ownership.
Make sure that company 1 has an active connection with company 2 to be able to transfer equipment to company 2’s Onix Work account. Otherwise, please establish a company connection following this guide.
Hi @daisy.phan
Our clients do not and will not use Onix Work to test their equipment, as we are an accredited company to test their equipment.
How can our inspector change the location of an item in the Onix Inspect program?
Thank you for your feedback!
At the moment, ownership changes are designed to be initiated by the current owner of the equipment. This means that the current owner can transfer the equipment from their company to another owner, but a different company cannot directly change the ownership of equipment that currently belongs to someone else.
This approach helps ensure that ownership changes are made by the party currently responsible for the equipment and that the transfer is properly authorized.
Hi @daisy.phan
Okay, let’s take another example.
Our technician arrives to inspect equipment for a customer who has several locations at different addresses. The technician goes to location 1 and selects location 1 in Onix Inspect.
During the inspection, he sees a piece of equipment that is actually registered under location 2. However, the technician does not know this, as he cannot verify it at that moment.
Question: how can we avoid creating a duplicate piece of equipment?
I will explain our role in equipment inspection for our customers.
We are a company in Latvia that performs annual inspections of lifting equipment for heavy loads, as well as other types of equipment. As a competent company, we are authorised to issue inspection reports confirming that the inspection has been completed. We also maintain records of all equipment in the Onix system. This is managed by us, not by the customer.
The customer is usually not interested in subscribing to Onix, as they do not see a need for it. We manage all equipment records ourselves, while the customer only needs an official document confirming that the equipment has been inspected and is safe to use.
We have more than 700 companies across Latvia using our equipment inspection services. That is why these details are very important to us: they help reduce chaos in the data, allow us to track specific equipment without issues, avoid confusion in the records, and prevent the same product from being created multiple times.
Therefore, if we notice that equipment has been transferred to another company or to another location, we move it manually in the system, because customers do not inform us about the rotation of their own equipment.
