“Statens vegvesen” feature - How it works and how to activate it

I - Why it helps?

In Norway, all registered vehicles must pass the EU-Mandatory roadworthiness test, known as the EU test. This makes it essential for everyone to stay on top of their vehicle's inspection schedule. Our Onix platform offers a convenient way to not only manage your vehicle information but also keep track of upcoming inspections.

Simply activate the Statens vegvesen configuration and add an equipment with a valid license plate number. Our system will then automatically sync the EU inspection deadline from www.vegvesen.no accordingly as 2-year mandatory inspection’s due date.

II - How to activate it?

1. Set up “Statens vegvesen” feature:

  • Please log in to Onix Work.
  • Navigate to Settings > External data sources > Staten vegvesen configuration.
  • Set Configuration as “active”.
  • Enter Main contact by selecting one of the contacts available in Users & Roles.
  • Click Apply.

2. Enter license plate number:

  • Navigate to Equipment module.
  • Open a desired equipment.
  • At Properties section, click Edit > Select properties.
  • In Select properties panel, press Add a property.
  • In List of properties panel, select the system property named License plate number.
  • Hit Save.
  • Now please enter a valid license plate number and click Save.

III - Expected outcomes:

  • The scheduler runs daily (at midnight) to create or update the 2-year mandatory inspection interval, using the vegvesen.no roadworthiness test deadline as the due date.
  • If an interval already exists, the due date is only updated if due status is close to due or overdue.

IV - Requirements for due date to sync?

1. Proper setup

  • The configuration is active.
  • Main contact has value.

2. Valid license plate number

Make sure to enter a license plate number that is searchable on www.vegvesen.no.

3. Main, unique, active equipment

That means the following scenarios are excluded from the auto-update:

  • Non-unique equipment (consumable, stock and part equipment)
  • Sub equipment
  • Inactive/scrapped/missing equipment
