Is it a good idea that we can register other objects as equipment - for instance an area for dropped objects inspection?

Should it be possible to register equipment without serial- or batch number and only with equipment ID? Is this something we need?

We are thinking about having the ID required for all the equipment. You don’t have to use Serial or Batch No. for your equipment, but you can use Owner ID or Product No. as well.
