Jobs - Area info in documents

We import equipment to Onix using .csv.

Regarding the Area field in the Import equipment template.

Why area is not mentioned in certificates/documents if it was aldread added in the import equipment file? Should Area be added as a field in the Job details and synced from Equipment details?

Area is very useful for the ship crew, so they know where this equipment is stored on board the vessel. For example, shackle is located at vessel Auriga, Area: deck store.

You are correct; the Area field is available on equipment records, but it is not included on generated certificates. This is a deliberate design choice — certificates are intended to give a clean, readable overview of the most relevant information, and including every available field would make them cluttered and harder to read.

For describing the whereabouts of equipment, we use the Location field on certificates instead. In Onix, a location can contain multiple areas, so it provides a broader and more consistent reference point that works well across our customer base.

That said, we understand that different customers work differently, and we appreciate the feedback. If this is something that is important to your workflow, feel free to let us know — customer input like this helps us prioritize future improvements.
