Let admin pin equipment views for other Onix Inspect users

Thanks for the feedback. :slightly_smiling_face:

For inspectors, this will have a minimal impact on the workflow itself, but over time it will compound. It is very beneficial for a company to have an uniform user interface when doing training of users, and followup with support in cases of inconsistencies of data.
Secondly, humans are notoriously good at taking shortcuts where this is possible, and this often in contrast to best practice. Onix itself is fantastic at providing lots of customising options to its users, but on the flipside, it does also forces inspectors to customise their interface to match company requirements, and this can be somewhat difficult for new users, and takes up a lot of time during training.

In my company we estimate that 90% of the equipment that is registered with the same serial number as already registered equipment, is due to that the inspectors had active system settings that made them unable to find the equipment in question in the registry. the remaining 10% being registration company specific tag numbers in the serial number slot instead of using the equipments own serial number (user error).

This in turn have led to situations where we would have two equipment with the same serial number, and one equipment having all the documentation, and the other equipment have the inspection reports, and the disapproved status due to missing documentation, making the equipment be considered “NC” = Not in Compliance with legislative norms.

Having the option for an Admin to do a system wide “Default Viewport” and “Default Filtering” for their users would make sure the abovementioned is minimized. And when it comes to the “Force Logout”, this is needed in cases where changes are made to user accounts, due to users often not realizing that the admin needs them to actually log completely out of the account in order to receive the changes. you have no idea how many times people just restart the browser and say they have relogged, and claim they have relogged.. its kinda like support asking a user to unplug their modem, and they say they have done it, but could not be bothered to pull the plug, or support asking a user to restart their computer, and the user just turns their monitor off and on again.. ID-10-T errors are more common than you would expect, just ask anyone who ever worked in tech support.. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Lars,
Thank you for the product idea!
The way I see it we could give the administrators the option to pin views to a role. That way the pinned views can be more relevant for the specific user, for example inspectors in your example.

I leave it open for discussion and will come back to it when we have more updates.
