Onix Inspect: Download and prepare inspection data (part 1)

Onix Inspect is designed for inspectors who need to download inspection data, work with jobs, and upload inspection results.

This article explains how to manage your user settings, download inspection data and configure default settings.

Change language

To change the language in Onix Inspect:

  1. Select the Menu button in the top-left corner.
  2. Select Settings > Change language.
  3. Select your preferred language from the list.

Storage usage

Change settings for storage usage

You can check how much device storage Onix Inspect uses. To check storage usage, select Menu > Settings > Storage usage.

To remove storage used by Onix Inspect, select Clear Onix Inspect storage.

To manage picture downloads, turn Automatically download pictures when viewing online on or off.

  • When the setting is on, pictures for equipment, issues, and checkpoints are downloaded automatically when you are online and open the pictures in Onix Inspect.
  • When the setting is off, you must download pictures manually when you view them.

Change file storage location

You can change the folder where Onix Inspect stores data on your local device. To change file storage location, select Menu > Settings > File storage location and choose a new location.

Download inspection data

Download customer equipment and inspection data before starting work in Onix Inspect.

You can download inspection data by selecting equipment manually or by using an inspection project. After the download is complete, review your setup to confirm that your inspection settings are correct.

Download customer data

Download customer data to access equipment, jobs, files, and inspection information offline.

To download customer data:

  1. In Onix Inspect, choose one of the following:
    • If you are starting fresh, on the Home page, select Download.
    • If you have previously uploaded inspection data, select Sync > View and adjust the new download.
  2. Select the scope and select Download when you finish.

:warning: Warning
When you download customer data on a new device, any pending data on other devices becomes invalid for upload.

You can select the download scope by customer or by inspection project.

Field Description
Customer The equipment owner company.
Location, Area The location and area of equipment to be downloaded.
Control category The control category of equipment to be downloaded.
Files Determines whether documents and pictures are downloaded and available offline on your device during the inspection.

If you previously downloaded data, you can repeat the same scope by selecting Sync > Download.

When you sign in and download or upload data on a new device, Onix Inspect checks whether this device is different from the device you used most recently. If it is a different device, pending items on the previous device become invalid for upload.

When the warning dialog appears, select Continue only if you want to continue on the new device. After you select Continue, you can no longer upload data from the previous device.

Download your company settings

Download your company data to access checklists and settings of your company in Onix Inspect.

To download your company settings, go to Sync, select My company > Download.

Review default configuration

After the download finishes, review your default settings before starting inspections in Sync > Default configuration.

Setting Description
Default job options Set default values for new jobs
Inspection projects Determines whether equipment outside the project scope is automatically added to the project after a new job is created.
Default job date filter The default date range filter in equipment views.
Control category permission Lists the control categories that you can access. If permissions are incorrect, contact your customer to correct.

Restore data

You can restore a backup file to continue working. You should only restore data that have not been uploaded.

  1. Open Menu
  2. Select Backup and restore > Restore
  3. Select the file you want to restore
