[FAQ] Why can't I find my equipment?

If you can’t find a piece of equipment that you know exists in Onix, there are three common reasons why it may not be showing up. Work through each section below to identify the cause.

Check which view you are in

Onix apps default to the Active equipment view, which only shows equipment with an active status. Equipment that is inactive, scrapped, or missing will not appear in this view.

If you are in a custom view, check whether the view has filters that may be excluding your equipment.

Simply switch to All equipment view to search across all equipment regardless of status:

  1. Click the current view name.
  2. Select Pick a view.
  3. Under Standard, select All equipment.

Check whether filters are applied

Currently applied filters narrow the list and can silently exclude equipment.

For example, if the Equipment ownership filter is set to a specific Location, Area, Contact, or Project, equipment that doesn’t match those criteria won’t appear in the list.

Check what identifier you use to search

The search box only works with the following fields: Owner’s ID, Serial no., Batch no., Product no., Type, and Model.

Searching by any other display field returns no results. In that case, search in the Filter panel instead.
